“The Johnson Party are a peppy, tree-hugging roots-pop act with noodle-dancing tendencies, i.e. there are probably a few Dead stickers on their bike fenders and backpacks”.... That’s exactly right!

In October 2008, members of the Johnson Party set sail for 21 days down through the belly of the Grand Canyon. Gear for the trip included 4 sixteen foot rafts, 2 inflatable duckies, 3 guitars, 1 mandolin, 1 set of bongos, 5 harmonicas, 1 banjo, 800 beers, and a full bar. We put in at Lee’s Ferry and took out at Diamond Creek, 223 Miles down stream. Every night there was a jam session. Along the way, we made some awesome new friends, encountered some of the biggest rapids in North America, camped at incredible beaches, hiked to waterfalls, had raging parties, celebrated Halloween in costume, encountered desert wildlife, and reconnected with the Earth. Here’s some photos of the trip:<br/>
